Course Description

When confronted with a chronic pain issue during a routine exam on a busy day, it is often too easy to send home an NSAID and hope it works. Unfortunately, that is often not enough and either the animal is going to continue to suffer from pain, or the owner will go elsewhere. This session discusses how to approach and manage chronic pain patients, get a proper diagnosis, set up a treatment plan, and enlist the owner as part of the patient care team.
