Some helpful info and tips from the ASPCA on Adopt a Horse Month and how you can get involved to help horses in need!
The ASPCA’s Right Horse Initiative announces the first Adopt a Horse Month, a nationwide campaign starting April 26th, celebrated as Help a Horse Day, and running through the end of May. ASPCA research suggests there could be at least 2.3 million adults in the U.S. with the resources and desire to adopt a horse, and we encourage those individuals, regardless of their experience level, to get involved this May. For those unable to adopt, there are many ways to support horses in transition and bring awareness to equine adoption.
In addition to highlighting adoptable horses on MyRightHorse.org, the ASPCA’s online adoption platform specifically for equines, the month will be dedicated to sharing resources for adopters across disciplines, at all skill levels and throughout each phase of their adoption journey. The ASPCA asks animal lovers to share adoptable equines on their social media channels using the hashtags #AdoptaHorse and #RightHorse.Together, we can make the first Adopt a Horse Month, and all of 2021, another incredible moment for horses.
