Course Description

Evidence based science on the use of photobiomodulation (PBM, previously referred to as laser therapy) will be reviewed, specifically as it relates to new research examining the use of PBM in treating both osteoarthritis and potentially Degenerative Myelopathy in dogs. The participant will have an understanding of basic light-tissue interaction and how PBM is dosed in order to achieve consistent results in deep tissue conditions.

Things to Learn

The participant will have an understanding of the best way to apply PBM for results in treating patients with OA and potentially other chronic deep tissue conditions, such as DM in their clinical practice.

Instructor

Dr. Miller is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an internship in internal medicine, and became certified in canine rehabilitation therapy at the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. She practiced canine rehabilitation, sports medicine, neurological rehabilitation, and acupuncture for several years before returning to general practice
