Do women prefer dogs over dates?

A survey, conducted in honor of National Dog Day on August 26, reveals that a large percentage of women prefer spending time with their dogs to dating.

National Dog Day is on August 26 and we are getting ready to celebrate our furry friends in the best ways possible! Can you believe that dogs have been with us for at least 14,000 years? Thank goodness for that because what would we do without man’s best friend? Or should we say “woman’s” best friend?

Experts at National Today surveyed 3,000 Americans about everyone’s favorite furry friends and found:

  • The majority of dog parents (70%) would prefer to spend time with their dogsversus people
  • Nearly a quarter of men (23%) would prefer to spend time with their dogs than go on a date
  • Nearly 4 in 10 women (39%) would prefer spending time with their dogs to dating
  • 68% of dog owners allow their dog to sleep with them at least once a month

Additionally, findings revealed that the top 10 dog-loving states are:

1. California
2.  New York
3.  Washington
4.  Tennessee
5.  Florida
6.  Massachusetts
7.  Texas
8.  Missouri
9.  Ohio
10. Arizona
