Our dogs are our “fur babies”. And much like human children, they can develop “sugar diabetes”, clinically known as Type I diabetes mellitus. Poor nutrition contributes to premature aging and degenerative conditions that can lead to the development of diabetes in dogs.

Instructor

  • Veterinarian Dr. Ian Billinghurst received his Veterinary Science degree (honors) from Sydney University in Australia in 1976, and has been in companion animal practice since then. By the end of the 1980s, he became convinced that Evolutionary Nutrition was the only nutritional program able to promote and sustain genuine health. Dr. Billinghurst founded the BARF diet concept, and has written several books on animal nutrition, including Give Your Dog a Bone and The BARF Diet. He is currently working on a range of e-books dealing with raw nutrition for dogs and cats.
