A retired teacher, Janet Alexander (née Wolanin) braids horsehair jewelry and writes horse books. She lives in southeastern Indiana with her husband and their cats and dogs. Highlander, her trail horse, boards next to a state property with a large trail system. Besides writing Braiding Horsehair Bracelets, Alexander has written At Home on a Horse in the Woods: A Journey into Living Your Ultimate Dream. Both books won an Equus Film and Arts literary award and are available wherever books or sold.
