I have been in veterinary medicine for 12 years as a licensed veterinary technician in Washington State. I have worked in ER for 8 years (I still do as a relief tech) and in Surgery for 4 years. Last 5 years, I also have been helping some specialty hospitals (Neurology, ER, and Surgery). I am originally from Japan and spent a lot of time with my grandparents who were farmers. I grew up with organic produce and was taught edible weeds/herbs, which have medicinal properties. I have used Kampo (Japanese traditional medicine) too. Even though my background is strongly rooted in conventional medicine, I have a passion for a holistic approach especially natural nutrition and phytochemicals. All my dogs have been treated with a homemade diet, herbal medicine, and homeopathy because they couldn’t get healed with the help of conventional medicine alone.
