Survey explores habits of people who take selfies with pets

It only takes a few seconds on social media to see how popular pet selfies are. In fact, it’s become such a phenomenon that researchers are studying it!

Does your pooch know his best angle? Does your cat pose like a pro? We’ve all been guilty of snuggling close to our beautiful pets to get a great selfie – any picture is better with whiskers – but why do we do it so much? Scientists in the U.S. and the U.K. are trying to figure that out.

Researchers James Oxley, Dr. Lori Kogan and Dr. Regina Schoenfeld are running an online survey to ask pet parents across the U.S. and the U.K. if and why they use selfies with their pets on social media. They hope to use the answer to find insights into the depth of the human-animal bond – something that’s always worth exploring!
