ASPCA joins forces with equine adoption initiative

The Right Horse Initiative has paired up with the ASPCA to increase adoption rates and improve the lives of even more horses in need.

At the end of 2019, the ASPCA announced they’d be taking on a new program to expand their equine welfare efforts. The Right Horse Initiative, a program originally established in 2016, focuses on increasing the number of successful horse adoptions in the United States, and helping horses transition between homes, owners and careers. The ASPCA is thrilled to team up with the industry professionals, organizations and advocates that make up The Right Horse Initiative, and looks forward to breaking down the stigmas that land so many horses in fatal situations.

“The Right Horse Initiative has been pivotal in bringing together leading voices from all corners of the equine community — an approach the ASPCA employs in our own equine welfare work — and together we will continue to improve the lives of countless horses through innovative adoption programs, training, and increased public awareness,” says Matt Bershadker, ASPCA President and CEO.
