Course Description

Veterinarians are the first responders when a pet gets cancer. It’s not enough to refer your patient to an oncologist, it’s important to create a team approach to support your client and their pet with cancer. In addition to referral to an oncologist, consultation with a nutritionist and an integrative vet to provide supportive evidence-based nutritional and nutraceutical therapies can help to improve outcomes.

Things to Learn

Anticipatory grief counseling, and goal setting, as well as learning how to assess Quality of Life will be discussed in this class. Some of the more commonly used supplements for cancer will also be explained.
